Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Topped by Bloomsburg; Paredes Reaches 100 Goals

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Marykate Sitko scored five goals and Mia Boccipio added four to lead Bloomsburg (7-9, 2-9 PSAC East) to a 21-12 win over Shepherd (4-9, 1-8 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium. Senior attacker Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) scored three goals for the Rams to reach 100 goals for her career. She also added three assists.

Senior attacker Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep), junior attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century), sophomore midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior), freshman midfielder Katherine Stevenson (Middletown, Md./Middletown) each tallied a pair of goals. King and Poe also added an assist.

Junior attacker Rebekah Forney (Walkersville, Md./Mount De Sales) added a goal and freshman attacker Grace Meyer (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) tallied an assist.         
                                                                                            
The Shepherd defense was led by senior defender Sydney Witmer (Damascus, Md./Damascus) (4 GB, 3 DC, 2 CT), senior defender Campbell Vitek (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) (3 GB), sophomore defender Luetta Seipp (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) (6 GB, 1 CT), and freshman midfielder Grace Lyon (Port Tobacco, Md./McDonough) (4 GB, 2 CT, 10 DC). 
                       
Kayla Stressman added three goals and Brianna Austin had a pair of goals and four assists for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg had a 10-7 advantage at the break.

Junior goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) recorded five saves for the Rams. Lauren Foley had 14 saves for the Huskies.

Shepherd had a 36-30 advantage in shots while shots on goal were even at 26-all. Shepherd was 17-of-19 in clears and Bloomsburg was 16-of-24. The Rams had a 30-23 advantage in ground balls and a 19-17 edge in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to West Chester for a 4 p.m. contest.

Notes: The Rams honored seniors Sarah Fischer, Kelsey King, Katie Paredes, Paige Sullivan, Campbell Vitek, and Sydney Witmer in a pregame ceremony. Paredes' six points on the day allowed her to surpass 150 for her career with 152.
