KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Shepherd University (28-23-1) dropped a 1-0 decision to Bloomsburg (32-19) in nine innings in NCAA II Atlantic Regional action at Kutztown on Thursday. Senior third baseman Lauren Moore (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora/Trevecca Nazarene) had a double for Shepherd's only extra-base hit. She now has 19 doubles on the season to tie the Shepherd single-season mark of 19 set by Nicole Purtell in 2023.
 
Taylor Kranzley led off the ninth with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice by Allie Wenrich. Emma Little followed with a single up the middle to plate Kranzley with the game-winner.
 
Sophomore outfielder Madelyn Chambers (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point), sophomore first baseman Brenna Collis (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville), junior catcher Camdyn Noland (Summit Point, W.Va./Washington), and freshman outfielder Payton Weaver (Fairplay, Md./Williamsport) each had a hit for the Rams.
 
Sarah Yamrick had a pair of hits for the Huskies.
 
Yamrick (9.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 7 K, 2 BB) (14-5) gained the win.  Sophomore pitcher Madelayne Ruffner (9.0 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 10 K, 1 BB) (20-4) took the loss.
                               
The Rams are slated to return to action on Friday when they face Charleston (36-16), a 4-3 loser to Kutztown in nine innings in an earlier game, at 2:30 p.m.
