LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Senior third baseman Lauren Moore (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora/Trevecca Nazarene) and sophomore pitcher Madelayne Ruffner (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) of the Shepherd University softball team have been named to the 2025 NFCA DII All-Region Atlantic Team as announced on Thursday. Both Moore and Ruffner were first team selections.
 
Moore tops the Rams with a .423 batting average with a team-best 74 hits in 175 at-bats. She has driven in a team-best 51 runs and scored 31. She tops the team in doubles (19) and home runs (12). Moore also tops the team in slugging percentage (.737) and OPS (1.206).
 
Ruffner leads the Rams in the circle with a 20-4 mark with two saves with a 0.82 ERA. She has fanned a Shepherd single-season record 308 and walked 28. She currently ranks first in the NCAA II rankings in strikeouts per seven innings, second in strikeout-to-walk ratio, Second in WHIP, third in strikeouts, and third in hits allowed per seven innings.
