Shepherd Women’s Soccer Battles to 1-1 Tie with Shippensburg

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Fifth-ranked Shepherd University (1-0-1, 1-0-1 PSAC East) battled to a 1-1 tie with Shippensburg (1-0-2, 0-0-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.

Shippensburg took a 1-0 lead when Lannah Werymski scored on a pass from Ryleigh Cook at the 5:31 mark.

Shepherd tied the game on an unassisted goal by junior midfielder Reagan Ackermann (Myersville, Md./Middletown/UNC Wilmington) at the 21:32 mark.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Wilt (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) recorded one save for the Rams. Kirstin Brown had 10 saves for the Raiders.

Shepherd had a 30-3 advantage in shots with a 12-2 edge in shots on goal. The Rams had an 11-0 margin in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 1 p.m. contest.
