WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shepherd University men's cross country team finished fifth in a seven-team field with a score of 143 in a 5K race, while the women had four team members complete competition at the Shenandoah University Twilight Race at Shenandoah on Friday evening.
The men were led by freshman
Logan Feeg (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) who finished in 23rd with a time of 21:32.9. He was followed by senior
Parker Mackey (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) (41st, 23:26.1), sophomore
Jackson Fiolek (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Washington) (58th, 23:35.8), freshman
Mason Ratke (Ridgeley, Md./Frankfort) (66th, 24:03.0) and senior
Nick Yankle (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) (75th, 26:54.0).
The women were led by junior
Riley Staub (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) who finished 24th with a time of 22:14.6. She was followed by sophomore
Zoe Boyd (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) (29th, 22:39.3), freshman
Aubrey Fernandez (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier/Emory and Henry) (38th, 23:51.4), freshman
Jaclyn Unger (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) (46th, 29:41.9), and freshman Gabrielle Thompson Servant (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) (did not finish).
The Rams return to action on Sept. 27 when they travel to Salisbury University for the Don Cathcart Invitational.
