WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Macie McCracken scored a team-high 17 points to lead West Chester (9-7, 5-5) to a 71-59 victory over Shepherd (3-12, 1-9) in PSAC East women's basketball action at West Chester on Wednesday.
Sophomore forward Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) led the Rams with a game-high 18 points. Estridge connected on 6-of-18 shots from the floor with a 2-of-7 effort from beyond the arc. She was 4-of-4 from the foul line. Estridge added five rebounds.
Junior guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, N.Y./Xaverian) added 16 points, a game-high four steals, and three assists. Sophomore guard Trinity Turner (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) had 11 points, three assists, and three rebounds. Junior forward Jenna Liska (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty Frostburg State) contributed nine points and two rebounds, while freshman forward Vilte Kacerauskaite (Waldorf, Md./Saint Mary's) grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Marianna Papazoglou added 15 points, six rebounds, and a game-high four blocks for the Golden Rams. Ava Mazur tossed in 11 points.
Shepherd connected on 31.3 percent (20-64) of its field goals with a 21.7 percent effort (5-23) from three-point range. The Rams hit 87.5 percent (14-16) of their free throws.
West Chester had a 53.7 percent (29-54) field goal percentage with a 30.8 percent (4-13) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Golden Rams hit 81.8 percent (9-11) from the foul line.
West Chester had a 41-30 advantage on the boards. The Rams forced 23 turnovers and committed 14.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Kutztown for a 1 p.m. contest.
