JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Sophia Ott scored a team-high 14 points to lead Pitt-Johnstown (5-8, 2-4) to a 63-57 win over Shepherd (2-8, 0-6) in PSAC women's basketball action at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday.
Sophomore forward Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) led the Rams with a game-high 24 points. Estridge connected on 11-of-19 shots from the floor with a 1-of-4 effort from beyond the arc. She was 1-of-4 from the foul line. Estridge added five rebounds.
Junior guard Grace Middleton (Leesburg, Va./Tuscarora/Frostburg State) added 10 points, four boards, three steals, and three assists. Sophomore guard Trinity Turner (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) added six points, four rebounds, and three assists, while freshman forward Summer Shackelford (Amissville, Va./Highland School) contributed six points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Lexi Margolis added 13 points, two rebounds, and two steals for the Mountain Cats. Riley Childress had nine points, four boards, and added five steals.
Shepherd connected on 42.3 percent (22-52) of its field goals with a 10 percent effort (1-10) from three-point range. The Rams hit 66.7 percent (12-18) of their free throws.
Pitt-Johnstown had a 33.4 percent (22-66) field goal percentage with a 35.7 percent (5-14) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Mountain Cats hit 70 percent (14-20) from the foul line.
The Mountain Cats had a 41-37 advantage on the boards. Shepherd forced 19 turnovers and committed 28.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Lock Haven for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
