Shepherd Women Top West Chester

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –  Sophomore forward Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) scored a game-high 19 points to lead Shepherd (10-13, 8-10) to a 77-63 victory over West Chester (10-14, 6-12) in PSAC East women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday. 

Estridge connected on 6-of-15 shots from the floor with a 1-of-3 effort from beyond the arc and went 6-of-14 from the charity stripe. Estridge tied a career-high effort with 12 rebounds, while adding four steals and two blocks. 

Junior guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, N.Y./Xaverian) added 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Junior guard Cassidy Rhodes (Point of Rocks, Md./Brunswick) had 12 points and four rebounds. Sophomore guard Trinity Turner (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) contributed seven points and a season-high 10 rebounds. 

Macie McCracken added a game-high 21 points and eight boards for the Golden Rams. Marianna Papazoglou had nine points and eight rebounds, while Alivia Mauz contributed nine points and three assists.

Shepherd connected on 40.6 percent (26-64) of its field goals with a 33.3 percent effort (8-24) from three-point range. The Rams hit 54.8 percent (17-31) of their free throws.

West Chester had a 40.6 percent (26-64) field goal percentage with a 50 percent (9-18) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Golden Rams hit 66.7 percent (2-3) from the foul line. 

Shepherd had a 47-40 advantage on the boards. The Rams forced 22 turnovers and committed 17.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Kutztown for a 1 p.m. contest.
