Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #19 Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Sydney Marusko recorded seven goals and two assists to lead #19 Seton Hill (1-1) to a 17-4 win over Shepherd (0-1) in women's lacrosse action at Seton Hill on Friday in the season opener for the Rams.

Sophomore midfielder Katherine Stevenson (Middletown, Md./Middletown), sophomore attacker Kloey Batchellor (Hanover, Pa./South Western/York College), senior attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century), and senior attacker Rebekah Forney (Adamstown, Md./Mount De Sales) each netted a goal for the Rams.

Shepherd got assists from sophomore midfielder Grace Lyon (Ocean City, Md./McDonough) and freshman attacker/midfielder Rebekah Stotler (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron).

Junior defender Luetta Seipp (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) had game-high efforts of seven ground balls and five caused turnovers to lead the defensive effort for the Rams.   
                                                            
Seton Hill had a 9-4 lead at the half behind four first-half goals from Marusko.

Mila Udicici added five goals and three assists, while Anna Alt tallied three goals for the Griffins.

Freshman netminder Bailey Terry (Rockville, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) (8 saves, 11 GA, 30:00) and senior goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) (3 saves, 8 GA, 30:00) combined to record 11 saves for the Rams. Allison Hathaway (5 saves, 0 GA, 30:00) and Katelyn Patts (1 save, 4 GA, 30:00)  posted six saves for the Griffins.

Seton Hill had a 42-19 advantage in shots with a 28-10 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 12-of-22 in clears, and Seton Hill was 18-of-24. The Griffins had a 29-21 advantage in ground balls.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Wheeling for a 3 p.m. contest.
