Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Downed by Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Brianna Gora scored four goals to lead Millersville (3-3, 1-2 PSAC East) to a 17-8 win over Shepherd (1-5, 0-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Millersville on Wednesday.

Freshman attacker Hadley Robertson (New Market, Md./Linganore) had two goals and an assist, and sophomore midfielder Grace Lyon (Ocean City, Md./McDonough) also tallied a pair of goals to lead the Rams. Lyon also tied Millersville's Mary Moraca with a game-high seven draw controls.

Senior attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century), senior attacker Rebekah Forney (Adamstown, Md./Mount De Sales), sophomore attacker Kloey Batchellor (Hanover, Pa./South Western/York College), and sophomore midfielder Katherine Stevenson (Middletown, Md./Middletown) added single tallies.

Sophomore midfielder Britney Warner (Hughesville, Md./La Plata) recorded an assist.

Sophomore defender Emily Meyer (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) led the defense with three caused turnovers and a ground ball.   
      
Kayleigh Dunn and Shannon Meder each added three goals and an assist for the Marauders. 
             
Freshman netminder Bailey Terry (Rockville, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) (2 saves, 9 GA, 35:23) and senior goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) (3 saves, 8 GA, 24:37) combined to record five saves for the Rams. KC O'Neill posted seven saves for the Marauders.

Millersville held a 37-23 advantage in shots and a 16-11 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 12-of-16 in clears while Millersville was 14-of-16. Ground balls were even at 16 each, and Millersville had a 17-10 edge in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host #11 West Chester for a 1 p.m. contest.
