Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #11 West Chester

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Kendall Fortune and Sydney Wasdick each scored four goals to lead #11 West Chester (3-3, 1-2 PSAC East) to a 20-6 win over Shepherd (1-6, 0-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Rams Stadium on Saturday.

Sophomore midfielder Katherine Stevenson (Middletown, Md./Middletown) led the Rams with a pair of goals.

Freshman attacker Hadley Robertson (New Market, Md./Linganore) added a goal and two assists. Senior attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century), senior attacker Rebekah Forney (Adamstown, Md./Mount De Sales),  junior midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) each netted a goal.

Sophomore midfielder Grace Lyon (Ocean City, Md./McDonough ) added a pair of assists and sophomore attacker Kloey Batchellor (Hanover, Pa./South Western/York College) contributed another. Lyon added five draw controls and four ground balls.

Junior defender Luetta Seipp (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) led the defense with two caused turnovers and four ground balls.  
   
Marissa Herring and Lila McMahon-Scates each added three goals for the Golden Rams.

Freshman netminder Bailey Terry (Rockville, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) (4 saves, 18 GA, 49:25) and senior goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) (3 saves, 2 GA, 10:35) combined to record seven saves for the Rams. Morgan Koons (3 saves, 4 GA, 30:00), Kerrigan Sweeney (2 saves, 1 GA, 15:00), and Karyna Gonzalez (1 save, 1 GA, 15:00) combined for six saves for the Golden Rams.

West Chester held a 33-21 advantage in shots and a 27-12 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 11-of-13 in clears while West Chester was 14-of-16. West Chester had a 23-18 advantage in ground balls.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Shippensburg at 3 p.m. for the Morgan's Message Game.
