Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Knocks Off Shippensburg; Lyon Sets Draw Controls Mark

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore midfielder Grace Lyon (Ocean City, Md./McDonough) had six goals and an assist and freshman attacker Hadley Robertson (New Market, Md./Linganore) added five goals to lead Shepherd (2-6, 1-3 PSAC East) to a 19-15 win over Shippensburg (4-5, 1-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday. Lyon set a new Shepherd single-game mark with 20 draws. She broke the previous mark of 14 set by Lillian Funke against Ursuline in 2018.

Sophomore attacker Grace Meyer (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) had two goals and an assist, and senior attacker Rebekah Forney (Adamstown, Md./Mount De Sales) netted a pair of goals.

Sophomore midfielder Britney Warner (Hughesville, Md./La Plata) added a goal and an assist, while junior midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior)  junior midfielder/defender Sierra Rose (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key), and freshman attacker/midfielder Rebekah Stotler (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) each scored a goal.

Sophomore midfielder Katherine Stevenson (Middletown, Md./Middletown) had a pair of assists while senior attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) and sophomore midfielder Jordan White (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) each handed out an assist.   
            
Lexi Koz and Maddie Phommachanh each had five goals, and Shannon Wood added four goals and an assist for the Raiders. Brynn Hauck contributed one goal and three assists.

Freshman netminder Bailey Terry (Rockville, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) recorded a career-high 14 saves for the Rams. Izzy Sawicki posted 14 saves for the Raiders.

Shepherd held a 41-34 advantage in shots and a 33-29 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 13-of-18 in clears while Shippensburg was 19-of-21. Shippensburg had a 22-12 advantage in ground balls. Shepherd had a 27-9 advantage in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a noon contest.
