Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Millersville

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –  Carmen Decaro had four goals and two assists to lead Millersville (5-7, 3-5 PSAC East) to a 13-9 win over Shepherd (2-8, 1-5 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday.

Junior midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Rams. Sophomore attacker Grace Meyer (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) also netted a pair of goals.    
           
Sophomore midfielder Grace Lyon (Ocean City, Md./McDonough) had a goal and a game-high four assists. Senior attacker Rebekah Forney (Adamstown, Md./Mount De Sales) and senior attacker Madison Peacher (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) each had a goal and an assist, while sophomore attacker Kloey Batchellor (Hanover, Pa./South Western/York College) and junior midfielder/defender Sierra Rose (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) both tallied a goal. Lyon added a team-high five draw controls.

Junior defender Luetta Seipp (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) recorded four caused turnovers and four ground balls to pace the Shepherd defense.        
                                                                                                                       
Mary Moraca had three goals for the Marauders. Addison Geary added two goals and an assist.

Freshman netminder Bailey Terry (Rockville, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) (15:00, 6 GA, 2 saves) and senior goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) (45:00, 7 GA, 11 saves) combined for 13 saves for the Rams. KC O'Neill posted eight saves for the Marauders.

Millersville had a 10-6 lead at halftime. Shepherd opened the third quarter on a 3-1 run with consecutive goals by Meyer, Rose, and Lyon to get to within two goals at 11-9 with 3:58 left in the quarter. Millersville got a pair of fourth quarter goals to seal the win.

The Marauders held a 29-22 advantage in shots and a 26-17 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 14-of-15 in clears while Millersville was 16-of-20. Millersviille had a 22-15 advantage in ground balls. Millersville had a 15-9 edge in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Bloomsburg for Senior Day at 1 p.m.
