LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Junior pitcher
Madelayne Ruffner (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) of the Shepherd University softball team has been named to the 2026 PSAC Spring Top Ten as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Ruffner boasts a 3.78 grade point average as an elementary education major. She collected multiple postseason honors, including PSAC Softball East Pitcher of the Year, the D2CCA and NFCA All-America Teams, and the 2025-26 Shepherd Female Athlete of the Year award. She appeared in 31 games with 23 starts, recording a 15-8 record with a 1.28 ERA, the third-lowest mark in the nation. Ruffner struck out 292 batters with just 22 walks in 164.2 innings. She ranks first in Division II in strikeout-to-walk ratio (13.86), strikeouts per seven innings (12.4), and WHIP (.071).
