Merritt Delk (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead 17th-ranked Shepherd University (2-0-0, 1-0-0 PSAC East) to a 3-0 win over Mansfield (1-1-0, 0-1-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Mansfield on Saturday.
Delk scored an unassisted tally at the 11:48 mark to give the Rams a 1-0 advantage.
She added a goal on a feed from redshirt sophomore defender
Morgen Smith (Clarksburg, Md./Poolesville/Radford)at the 64:52 mark.
Sophomore forward
Ella Morningstar (Vienna, Va./Paul VI) scored the game's final goal at the 69:43 mark on an assist from Delk.
Redshirt junior
Alex Stuart (New Market, Md./Linganore/Eastern Kentucky) (73:46, 0 GA, 1 save) and freshman
Jayden McDonough (McKinney, Texas/McKinney Boyd) (16:14, 0 GA, 0 saves) combined for one save in goal for the Rams. Angel Gule recorded seven saves for the Mountaineers.
Shepherd had a 19-2 edge in shots with a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Rams had a 17-0 margin in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 7 p.m. match.
