SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (3-1-2, 1-1-1 PSAC East) recorded a 2-1 win over Shippensburg (1-2-2, 1-2-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead into the break on an unassisted goal by junior midfielder/defender
Ebenezer Solomon (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch) at the 39:24 mark.
The Rams took a 2-0 lead as senior midfielder
Josue Guzman (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) scored on an assist from redshirt-freshman forward
Riley Brabson (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown/Mercyhurst) at the 48:11 mark.
The Raiders got an unassisted tally from Zac Slavin at the 77:34 mark to wrap up the scoring.
Junior goalkeeper
Aidan Houck (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) recorded three saves for the Rams. Ryan Krumenacker posted one save for the Raiders.
Shepherd had a 9-5 advantage in shots with Shippensburg holding a 4-3 margin in shots on goal. Shepherd had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Lackawanna for Alumni Day at 3:30 p.m.
