LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior forward
Josh Petty (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll/Queens University of Charlotte) scored a pair of goals to lead Shepherd University (1-0-1) to a 2-1 win over Lock Haven (0-2-1) in men's soccer action at Lock Haven on Wednesday.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when Petty scored an unassisted goal at the 32:55 mark.
Lock Haven tied the game when Billy Lawrence scored on a feed from Nicholas McGinn at the 44:14 mark.
Petty scored the game-winner on a pass from freshman forward/midfielder
Nicolas Cornejo (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) at the 52:08 mark.
Junior goalkeeper
Aidan Houck (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) recorded eight saves for the Rams. Ethan Beck posted three saves for the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven had a 15-6 edge in shots with a 9-5 margin in shots on goal. The Bald Eagles had a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Holy Family at 3:30 p.m. for Youth Day.
