SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University earned its third straight victory with a 3-1 win over Indiana (Pa.) in volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday night. The Rams gained a 17-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22 win.
Senior right side
Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) had a match-high 15 kills, 18 digs, and four blocks to pace the Rams. Junior right side/libero
Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) added 12 kills, 12 digs and a match-high three aces.
Junior outside hitter
Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) had a match-high 22 digs, while senior setter
Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) contributed 44 assists. Senior middle hitter
Kayla Motheral (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) and freshman right side/setter
Kayleigh Helgesen (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino ) each had eight kills.
Eliizabeth Sova had nine kills and Lindsay Moeller added 28 assists to pace the Crimson Hawks.
Shepherd improves to 3-1, while Indiana (Pa.) falls to 2-2. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a noon match against Lock Haven and a 6 p.m. matchup against LIU Post at the Wheeling Jesuit Tournament.
