Newhouse Lifts Shepherd Men's Soccer to Overtime Win

ATHENS, W.Va. – Sophomore midfielder/forward Myles Newhouse (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) scored on a feed from freshman defender Christian Nlend (Boyds, Md./Northwest) at the 105:39 mark to lift Shepherd University to 1-0 double overtime win over Concord  in MEC men's soccer action at Concord on Sunday.

Shepherd improves to 2-9-0, 1-6-0 in conference play, while Concord falls to 3-9-0, 2-7-0.

Sophomore goalkeeper Dmitre Snowdy (Waldorf, Md./North Point) recorded a pair of saves for the Rams, while Mitchell Thompson had five saves for the Mountain Lions.

Shepherd had an 18-9 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Concord played a man down after Eduardo Filho received a red card at the 53:00 mark.

The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Notre Dame College for a 2:30 p.m. game.
