SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University (25-4, 13-4 PSAC ) dropped a 3-1 (25-20, 13-25, 16-25, 23-25) decision to Shippensburg (24-4, 16-1 PSAC) in PSAC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Tuesday night.
Senior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend)Â had 16 kills and junior middle hitter Nicole Murray (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown)Â Â added 11 kills and a .381 attack percentage to pace the Rams.
Freshman outside hitter Kiara Rakestraw (Uhrichville, Ohio/Indian Valley) posted nine kills and a team-high 13 digs, while freshman middle blocker Elyssia Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) had a match-high five blocks.
Junior setter Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) contributed 28 assists, 11 digs, and a pair of aces. Senior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) recorded 12 digs and freshman outside hitter Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md./Heritage Academy)Â had 11.
Kendall Johnson had 16 kills and Gabriella Johnson added 15 kills and a match-high 21 digs to lead the Raiders. Emily Hangen posted 45 assists and 17 digs.
 The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to West Chester for a 7 p.m. match.
