ERIE, Pa. – Fifth-seeded Shepherd University (28-5) knocked off top-seeded Gannon University (27-6) in PSAC Volleyball Tournament semifinal action at Gannon on Friday night. The Rams posted a 3-0 (25-20, 25-2, 25-23) victory.
Senior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) had a match-high 16 kills with a .444 attack percentage to pace the Rams.
Senior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) had eight kills and senior outside hitter Seone Goode (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) contributed seven. Sophomore middle hitter Georgia Ohmke (Falls Church, Va./Justice) had six kills with a .600 attack percentage and added a match-high four blocks.
Junior setter Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) had 34 assists and five digs. Senior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) recorded a match-high 24 digs.
Lauren Sampson had 13 kills and 10 digs to lead the Golden Knights. Ally Smith added 10 kills, while Ashley Beyers posted 38 assists and 10 digs.
Shepherd had a .333 team attack percentage while limiting Gannon to a .219 mark. The Rams outblocked the Golden Knights, 13-6.
The Rams advance to the championship game on Saturday when they face third-seeded East Stroudsburg at 7 p.m. at Gannon.
