SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior guard Thomas Lang (New Market, Md./Linganore) scored a team-high 18 points to lead Shepherd University (6-5, 2-3) to a 95-61 win over Seton Hill in PSAC men's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday.
Lang was 6-of-7 from the floor with all of his attempts coming from three-point range.
Junior guard Cam Stephens (Bunker Hill, W.Va./Musselman) scored 15 points, freshman guard Daniel McClain-Corley (Clinton, Md./Massanutten Military Academy) had 13, while junior forward Kyle Daggett (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) and junior guard Jarrell Jones (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg/Alderson Broaddus) each tossed in 10. Sophomore guard Jon Preston (Brandywine, Md./Rock Creek Christian) added nine points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Nathan Davis had 29 points and nine rebounds to lead the Griffins. Jimmy Moon added 10 points.
Shepherd had a 54-32 lead at the break.
Shepherd connected on 37.7 percent (23-61) from the floor with a 25.9 percent (7-27) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 69.2 percent (9-13) of their free throws.
Seton Hill shot 36.1 percent (22-61) from the floor with a 28.6 percent effort (6-21) from three-point range. The Griffins shot 73.3 percent (11-15) from the charity stripe.
Shepherd had a 35-32 rebounding edge. The Rams forced eight turnovers and committed eight.
The Rams return to action on Jan. 3 when they travel to West Chester for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
