SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Junior attacker/midfielder Lillian Funke (Hagerstown, Md./Boonsboro) had six goals and an assist, while junior midfielder Mallory Davila (Hollywood, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) recorded a career-high six goals to lead Shepherd (4-4, 1-1 MEC) to a 22-4 win over Notre Dame (3-5, 1-1 MEC) in MECwomen's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Sunday.
Funke added a match-high eight draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Sophomore attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) added three goals and three assists, while junior attacker Emily Brown (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) added a goal and a career-high four assists.
Junior attacker Megan Dusci Walkersville, Md./Walkersville/Frederick CC) netted a pair of goals and freshman midfielder Kira Barth (Sykesville, Md./Century) had a goal and an assist. Freshman defender Juliana Barco (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill), freshman midfielder Maddison Young (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle), and freshman attacker Haleigh Piccolo (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) each added single tallies.
Katie Waddell, Selena Carter, Taylor Henderson, and Bridie Schmalz each netted goals for the Falcons.
Shepherd opened the game on an 8-0 run and took an 11-2 lead into halftime. Funke had three goals and Davila netted two to fuel the run.
Shepherd held a 43-20 advantage in shots, while Notre Dame had a 14-13 edge in draw controls. The Rams held a 23-17 edge in ground balls. Shepherd was 17-of-20 in clears, while Notre Dame was 10-of-15.
Freshman goalkeepers Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) (7 saves) and Jordan Hardesty (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) (2) combined for nine saves for the Rams. Ellejana Cicione had 13 saves for the Falcons.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Charleston for a 3 p.m. match.
