Shepherd Volleyball Goes 2-0 at MEC-PSAC Crossover to Improve to 8-0

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The Shepherd University volleyball team (8-0) gained a pair of wins in MEC-PSAC Crossover volleyball action at West Virginia State on Saturday. The Rams gained a 3-1 (16-25, 25-20,25-14, 25-17) win over West Virginia State (1-5) in an early match and added a 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-21) triumph over West Virginia Wesleyan (0-5) in a later match.

Senior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) had 15 kills and senior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) added 11  kills and five aces to pace the Rams against West Virginia State.

Senior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) posted a 28 digs, while freshman outside hitter Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md/Heritage Academy) added 11.

Junior setter Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) contributed 24 assists, while freshman setter Mackenzie Mahon (Culpeper, Va./Loudoun Valley) recorded 18 assists and four aces.

Gabrielle Bullock had nine kills to lead the Yellow Jackets.

Hill had seven kills and four aces, while Lindblad added six kills in the win over West Virginia Wesleyan.

Major recorded 19 digs. Mahon had 16 assists and Karcz added 15.

Jayme DeMoss had nine kills for the Bobcats.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Cleveland, Tennessee to face Emmanuel  at 10 a.m. and Concord at 3:30 p.m.
