Shepherd Volleyball Sweeps Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Shepherd University (14-4, 6-0 PSAC East) swept Lock Haven (4-10, 2-4 PSAC East) in PSAC East volleyball action at Lock Haven on Friday. The Rams recorded a 32-30, 25-18, 25-21 win for their sixth consecutive victory.

Senior right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) led the Rams with 11 kills and a .400 attack percentage.  Sophomore middle hitter Rylee Lenz (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor) and sophomore outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) each added eight kills. Lenz added a match-high four blocks (three solos) and three aces.   
                                                                                                             
Sophomore middle hitter/right side Sophia Ryan (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) had seven kills and three block assists.

Junior setter Macy Buso (Parker, Colorado/Chaparral) contributed 35 assists and a pair of aces. Senior defensive specialist/libero Harli Zeitz (Lake Worth, Fla./Somerset Academy Canyons) and senior libero/defensive specialist Kierra Anderson (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) each recorded a match-high 12 digs. Anderson added three aces.

Evie Jane Rembold had nine kills and Olivia Cook added eight to lead the Bald Eagles. Reagan Irons added six kills and 11 digs.

Shepherd rallied from a 24-21 deficit in the first set and rebounded to post a 32-30 victory. The Rams never trailed in the second set (25-18) and closed the third set (25-21) on an 11-5 run to erase a 16-14 deficit to secure the sweep.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bloomsburg for an 11 a.m. match.
