SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (4-9-3, 2-6-1 PSAC East) battled to a 1-1 tie with Millersville (8-6-2, 5-3-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday.
Millersville took a 1-0 lead into the break on an unassisted goal by Richy Valverde at the 12:17 mark.
Senior forward/midfielder
Mac Long (Boonsboro, Md/.Boonsboro/Hagerstown Community College) scored on an assist from sophomore midfielder
Josue Guzman (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) at the 75:02 mark to give the Rams the tie.
Freshman goalkeeper
Aidan Houck (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) recorded eight saves for the Rams. Jake Van Vorhees (89:26, 1 GA, 1 save) and Jack Gabler (:34, 0 GA, 0 saves) combined to post one save for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 20-7 edge in shots with a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Marauders had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Goldey-Beacom for a 2 p.m. match.
