Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #17 Kutztown

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shannon Lake scored seven goals and Sam Graf added six to lead #17 Bloomsburg (5-1, 2-0 PSAC East) to a 21-6 win over Shepherd University (2-4, 0-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Saturday.

Sophomore attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) led the Rams with a pair of goals.  Junior midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added a goal and two assists, while senior attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep), junior attacker Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep), and freshman midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) each tallied a goal.  

Senior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) added a pair of assists. Junior defender Sydney Witmer (Damascus, Md./Damascus) had a game-high five caused turnovers, two ground balls, and a pair of draw controls.

Lailah ElBouazzoui and Katie Yocum each added three goals for the Golden Bears. 

Kutztown had a 13-4 lead at halftime.

Sophomore goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) recorded eight saves for the Rams. Jenna Blesson posted two saves for the Golden Bears.

Kutztown had a 35-14 advantage in shots with a 29-8 advantage in shots on goal. Shepherd was 10-of-12 in clears, while Kutztown was 17-of-17. Kutztown had a 15-9 edge in ground balls. Shepherd forced 13 turnovers and committed 21. The Golden Bears had a 17-13 edge in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 3 p.m. contest.
