Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls at #10 Kutztown

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Sam Graf scored seven goals and Shannon Lake added three to lead #10 Kutztown (11-2, 7-1 PSAC East) to a 16-8 win over Shepherd University (5-7, 3-5 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Kutztown on Wednesday.

Junior midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) led the Rams with four goals, while junior attacker Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep) added three. Freshman midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) also netted a goal.

Senior attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) and sophomore attacker Rebekah Forney (Walkersville, Md./Mount De Sales) each contributed an assist.            

Olivia Eilbacher added two goals and a pair of assists for the Golden Bears.

Kutztown had a 9-1 lead at halftime.

Sophomore goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) recorded a career-high 20 saves for the Rams. Rockwell ties the Shepherd single-game mark of 20 saves set by Hailey Bennett against Shippensburg on Feb. 27, 2019. Jenna Blesson posted four saves for the Golden Bears.

Kutztown had a 51-18 advantage in shots with a 36-12 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 17-of-33 in clears, while Kutztown was 21-of-22. Kutztown had a 36-18 advantage in ground balls. Shepherd forced 18 turnovers and committed 35. The Golden Bears held a 15-9 advantage in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a noon contest.
