Shepherd Volleyball Improves to 8-0

WILMINGTON, Del. – Shepherd University improved to 8-0 on the season with a pair of wins in final day action of the Wilmington Tournament at Wilmington on Saturday. The Rams handed Jefferson a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-18) setback in an early match and added a 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-19, 25-13) win over host Wilmington in a later match.

Sophomore outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) recorded 15 kills with a .619 attack percentage and sophomore middle hitter Rylee Lenz (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor)added 13 kills with a .591 attack percentage to pace the Rams.

Junior setter Macy Buso (Parker, Colorado/Chaparral) (13) posted 40 assists and eight digs. Junior libero Madigan Faircloth (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman/Liberty University) contributed 11 digs.

Jaysa Even had seven kills and Caroline Bond had 17 assists and nine digs for Jefferson.

Senior right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) had 10 kills and Lenz added nine to pace the Rams against Wilmington.
                                                                      
Buso added 35 assists, seven kills, and nine digs, while Faircloth had 16 digs. Senior outside hitter Sydney Babb (Germantown, Md./Northwest/Montgomery College) added nine kills and 15 digs.

Eliza Schneider had 12 kills to lead Wilmington. Karalyn Osborne added 16 assists and 14 digs.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to the IUP Tournament to face Daemen at 11 a.m. and Pitt-Johnstown at 7 p.m.
