SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –
Shepherd University (17-6, 6-3 PSAC East) downed Millersville (6-17, 1-8 PSAC East) in four sets in PSAC East volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday evening. The Rams posted a 25-13, 25-17, 24-26, 25-21 victory.
Junior outside hitter
Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) and junior middle hitter/right side
Sophia Ryan (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) led the Rams. Davis had 16 kills and a .382 attack percentage, while Ryan had 12 kills with a .417 attack percentage. Davis added four aces, and Ryan had three blocks and three aces
Freshman outside hitter
Ada McCoy (Bunker Hill, W.Va./Musselman) added nine kills. Senior setter
Macy Buso (Parker, Colorado/Chaparral) posted a match-high 36 assists, six digs, four blocks, and a pair of aces.
Sophomore outside hitter
Gracie Zartman (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown/St. Mary's) recorded a match-high 23 digs. Senior libero/defensive specialist
Madigan Faircloth (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman/Liberty) added 13 digs. Sophomore setter
Sofia De Los Mozos (Lake Worth, Fla./Trinity Christian Academy/Tusculum) had 12.
Alex Nova had 12 kills and 11 digs to lead the Marauders. Sidonia Cecco added 17 digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Chester for a 4 p.m. contest.
