SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt junior running back
Jordan Barnett (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge/FUMA/Southern Utah) rushed 15 times for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Shepherd (5-4, 5-1 PSAC East) to a 48-7 win over Shippensburg (2-7, 2-4 PSAC East) in PSAC East football action at Ram Stadium on Saturday.
Shippensburg took a 7-0 lead when Riley Gunnels teamed with Jaevon Parker on an eight-yard scoring pass with 7:49 left in the first quarter.
Shepherd tied the game when Barnett scored on a two-yard plunge with 12:32 left in the second quarter. Sophomore kicker
Keith Baker (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) added the extra point.
The Rams took a 14-7 lead when graduate student running back
Grant Swinehart (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby/VMI) plowed into the end zone from three yards out with 6:59 left in the half.
Shepherd took a 21-7 lead into the break as graduate student quarterback
Michael Hardyway (Winchester, Cal./Oceanside/Bucknell) teamed with junior wide receiver
Kordell Batten (Waldorf, Md./St. Charles) on a 40-yard scoring strike with 1:40 left.
Barnett scored on a one-yard plunge with 13:20 left in the third quarter to open the second half scoring.
Baker connected on field goals of 24 and 34 yards in the third quarter to extend the Shepherd lead to 34-7.
The Rams added a pair of fourth quarter scores on a one-yard run by redshirt sophomore running back
Zion Grantham (Kearneysville, W.Va./Martinsburg) and an 18-yard jaunt from sophomore quarterback
Jackson Sigler (Stafford, Va./Mountain View/Virginia Tech).
Hardyway completed 11-of-22 passes for 134 yards. Gunnels was 10-of-20 for 83 yards for the Raiders.
Batten led the Shepherd receivers with four catches for 53 yards. Parker had five receptions for 63 yards for Bloomsburg.
Freshman running back
Jabril Daniels (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) added eight carries for 69 yards for the Rams. Ethan Arneson had six carries for 11 yards for the Raiders.
Shepherd amassed 474 yards of total offense with 308 coming on the ground. The Rams limited Shippensburg to 107 yards of total offense, allowing just seven rushing yards.
Redshirt senior
Geo-Di Tolbert (Upper Marlboro, Md./Frederick Douglass/Fairmont State) posted four tackles (one solo) and a sack (-6 yards) to lead the Shepherd defense.

Klayton Batten (Waldorf, Md./St. Charles) each recorded an interception. Gabe Benjamin had a game-high eight tackles for the Raiders.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven for a 1 p.m. contest.
