FLORENCE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke (7-2) rallied past Shepherd University (0-6) for a 6-2 win in baseball action at Francis Marion on Saturday.

UNC Pembroke took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI-single by Blake Hinson.

Shepherd tied the game in the third as junior outfielder Bodie Pullen (Winchester, Va./James Wood) singled, stole second,  and later scored on a single by junior outfielder Nik Rubendall (East Norriton, Pa./Pope John Paul II).

The Rams took a 2-1 lead in the fourth when redshirt-senior outfielder Trey Sine (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) reached on a hit-by-pitch, stole second, and later scored on a single by redshirt freshman catcher Colin Ahart (Pennsauken, N.J./St. Joseph Academy).

The Braves took advantage of four walks and a hit to plate four runs in the seventh to grab a 5-2 advantage.

UNC Pembroke added a run in the eighth on an RBI-single by Isaias Villareal.

Ahart went 2-for-4 and redshirt-senior infielder Wyatt Miles (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove/Frederick CC) added a 2-for-5 effort to pace the Rams.

Hinson went 2-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs for the Braves.

Landon Lucas (3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 K, 1 BB) (1-0) gained the win. Redshirt junior pitcher Oliver Leonard (Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk) (0.1 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 2 BB) (0-1) took the loss.  
   
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Salem for a noon doubleheader.
