SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior attacker
Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep) had seven goals and an assist to lead Shepherd University (3-2) to a 15-6 win over Frostburg State (3-4) in women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday.
Junior attacker
Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) tallied three goals, while senior attacker
Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and sophomore midfielder
Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) each added two goals and four assists. Harrison also added six draw controls.
Freshman midfielder
Katherine Stevenson (Middletown, Md./Middletown) netted a goal, while freshman midfielder
Grace Lyon (Port Tobacco, Md./McDonough) had two assists, five caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
Senior defender
Sydney Witmer (Damascus, Md./Damascus) led the Shepherd defensive effort with three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and a pair of draw controls.
Neila Haney led the Bobcats with three goals. Camden DeMaio added two goals and a pair of assists.
Shepherd had a 10-2 edge at halftime.
Junior goalkeeper
Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) recorded 13 saves for the Rams. Nicole Gray (30:00, 10 GA, 2 saves) and Grace Dickey (30:00, 5 GA, 6 saves) combined to post eight saves for the Bobcats.
Shots were even at 28-all with Shepherd holding a 23-19 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 17-of-22 in clears and Frostburg State was 14-of-17. Frostburg State had a 20-18 edge in ground balls and a 13-11 edge in draw controls.
The Rams return to action on March 22 when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. contest.
