SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (16-15-1, 12-7-1 PSAC East) had a pair of competitive games with #9 East Stroudsburg (33-6-1, 17-2-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East softball doubleheader action at Sara Cree Field on Saturday. East Stroudsburg gained a 9-8 win in nine innings in game one, while Shepherd rallied in the nightcap as both teams battled to an 8-8 tie in a game that was called after six innings due to darkness.
East Stroudsburg took a 2-0 lead in the first inning in the nightcap as Tulana Mingin had an RBI-double and later scored on an error.

Sam Colaw (Petersburg, W.Va./Petersburg), Collis, and Chambers each had a pair of hits for the Rams
The Rams answered back in the bottom of the first with seven runs. A two-run double by sophomore first baseman
Brenna Collis (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville) and a two-run triple by sophomore catcher
Madelyn Chambers (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) keyed the rally.
East Stroudsburg added single runs in the second and third to cut the lead to 7-4.
The Warriors plated four runs in the fifth to take an 8-7 lead. Abigail Weirich hit a three-run homer and Maddy Pritchard added a sacrifice fly to key the scoring.
The Rams tied the game in the fifth as junior catcher
Camdyn Noland (Summit Point, W.Va./Washington) led off with a single and later scored on a single by Chambers.
Katie Master belted a solo homer in the ninth in game one to lift East Stroudsburg to a 9-8 win.
Moore went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and a three-run blast to pace the Rams. Collis added a pair of hits including a solo homer.
Junior outfielder
Sydney Martin-Gonciarz (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Morgan State), Ruffner, and Chambers each added a pair of hits.
Minlin went 4-for-5 and Tatum Kresley added a 3-for-5 effort to lead the Warriors.
Sarah Davenport (8.1 IP, 11 H, 8 ER, 11 K, 4 BB) (22-0) earned the win. Abbie Landrum picked up the save (0.2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB) (1). Sophomore pitcher
