SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (21-21) posted a 10-7 win over Fairmont State (19-20) in non-conference baseball action at Fairfax Field on Tuesday.
Fairmont State took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI-single by Quintin Reep.
The Rams tied the game 1-1 in the first when junior outfielder
Bodie Pullen (Winchester, Va./James Wood) tripled and later scored on a wild pitch.
The Rams took a 2-1 lead in the second when redshirt sophomore shortstop
Ethan Burgreen (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) doubled and later scored when Pullen walked with the bases loaded.
Fairmont State took a 4-2 lead in the third with three runs. Zach Brennan had a sacrifice fly, while Reep and Tyler Wilkinson added RBI-singles.
The Fighting Falcons added a run in the fourth on an RBI-single by Cameron Moore.
The Rams plated two runs in the fourth to cut the lead to 5-4. Redshirt sophomore
Wyatt Lamb (Asbury, W.Va. Mt. Calvary Christian School (Pa.) reached on a hit-by-pitch and later scored on a Pullen bunt single. Pullen later scored on an error.
Shepherd took advantage of two errors in the fifth to score three runs to take a 7-5 lead.
Fairmont State tied the game in the seventh when Ryan Goff had an RBI-single and later scored on an error.
The Rams scored three runs in the eighth to grab the victory. senior left fielder
Trey Sine (Martinsburg, W.Va./ Martinsburg) led off with a bunt single and scored on a double by Pullen. Pullen later scored from third on a wild pitch. Redshirt sophomore outfielder
Ethan Jones (Oakton, Va./Oakton) capped the Rams scoring with a solo blast.
Pullen led the Rams with a 3-for-4 performance.

Eli Lam (Elkton, Va./Spotswood/Patrick Henry Community College) (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 K, 0 BB) earned the save (2). Dylan Travinski (2.0 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 5 R, 1 K, 0 BB) (0-4) took the loss.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Shippensburg for a 1 p.m. doubleheader for Senior Day.
