QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – Shepherd University (25-21-1) split a pair of games in 2025 PSAC Softball Tournament action at Veterans Field on Thursday. The Rams dropped a 10-5 decision to East Stroudsburg (44-9-1) in an early game and rebounded with a 3-2 triumph over Bloomsburg (31-19) in a later contest.
East Stroudsburg took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI-double by Abigail Weirich and a run-scoring single by Delaney Ridgell.
Shepherd cut the lead to 2-1 in the second as freshman outfielder
Haylee Hartman (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) doubled and scored on a double by freshman pitcher
Sam Colaw (Petersburg, W.Va./Petersburg).
The Warriors added a pair of runs in the third on a RBI-double by Ridgell and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Kinsley Proepper.
After the Warriors scored four runs on four hits in the top of the fourth, Shepherd answered back in the bottom of the frame with a solo blast by senior third baseman
Lauren Moore (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora/Trevecca Nazarene) to cut the lead to 8-2.
Shepherd cut the lead to 8-3 when Moore reached on an error and later scored on a single by sophomore first baseman

East Stroudsburg got RBI-doubles from Tatum Kresley and Tulana Mingin in the seventh to take a 10-3 advantage.
Shepherd completed the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run homer by sophomore catcher
Madelyn Chambers (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point).
Sarah Davenport (7.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 11 K, 1 BB) (29-2) gained the win. Freshman pitcher
Sam Colaw (Petersburg, W.Va./Petersburg) (6.1 IP, 12 H, 6 ER 1 K, 2 BB) (5-13) took the loss.
Shepherd took a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning against Bloomsburg behind a two-run single from senior outfielder
Sydney Martin-Gonciarz (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Morgan State) and an RBI-single from Chambers.
Bloomsburg got on the scoreboard in the fifth when Malauni Frost reached on an error and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Sarah Yamrick.
The Huskies added a run in the seventh on an RBI-double by Yamrick.
Chambers went 3-for-4 to pace the Rams. Senior shortstop
Lexi Clatterbuck (Front Royal, Va./Skyline) and Moore each added a pair of hits.
Sage Weidlich went 3-for-3 for the Huskies.
Sophomore pitcher
Madelayne Ruffner (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) (7.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 K, 0 BB) (18-3) picked up the win. Kelly Eberly (3.1 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 K, 1 BB) (4-8) took the loss.
The Rams will return to action on Friday when they face Kutztown at 12:30 p.m.
