SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senior first baseman Nik Rubendall (East Norriton, Pa./Pope John Paul II) belted a three-run blast in the eighth inning of the nightcap to lift Shepherd (27-21, 13-13 PSAC East) to a 10-7 win over Shippensburg (28-18, 15-11 PSAC East) in PSAC East baseball doubleheader action at Shippensburg on Thursday. Shippensburg earned an 11-4 win in game one.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one. Redshirt junior outfielder Bodie Pullen (Winchester, Va./James Wood) singled and later scored on a double from redshirt junior catcher Wyatt Lamb (Asbury, W.Va./Mt. Calvary Christian School (Pa.).
Shippensburg tied the game \in the bottom of the first on a solo blast from Thomas Cano-Piszel.
Shippensburg took an 8-1 lead with seven runs in the second. The rally was keyed by a three-run homer from Ty Sherman.\
The Ram scored two in the third on a two-run scoring double from Lamb to cut the lead to 8-3.
The Raiders scored a pair of runs in the third to take a 10-3 lead. The scoring was highlighted by a sacrifice-fly from Cano-Piszel.
Shippensburg took an 11-3 advantage in the fourth when Will Oates doubled and later scored on a double from Kyle Ausgotharp.
Shepherd scored a run in the seventh on a \solo blast from freshman outfielder Sam Hefner (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson).
Pullen had a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs for the Rams.
Cano-Piszel went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and two RBIs to pace the Raiders.
Conner Barto (6.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 K, 1 BB) (9-2) earned the win. Freshman pitcher Gavin Miller (Exeter Township, Pa./Exeter Township Senior) (4.0 IP, 11 H, 11 R, 11 ER, 1 K, 1 BB) (3-7) took the loss.

Shippensburg scored one in the first when Evan Schoffler singled and later scored on an Oates sacrifice-fly.
The Rams scored one in the third to take a 3-1 lead when redshirt sophomore infielder Ryan Fluharty (Burton, W.Va./Morgantown/USC Upstate) doubled and later scored on a sacrifice-fly from Rubendall.
Shepherd took a 7-1 lead in the fifth on a grand slam from Lamb.
The Raiders score six runs in the fifth to tie the game at 7-7 and set the stage for Rubendall's heroics. The scoring was keyed by a three-run homer by Sherman.
Rubendall had a pair of homers and drove in six runs to pace the Rams.
Junior pitcher Cooper Bryan (Chester Springs, Pa./Malvern Prep) (3.0 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 6 K, 3 BB) (1-1) earned the win. Jack Robinson (1.1 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 K, 2 BB) (2-2) took the loss.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Shippensburg for a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
