SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (5-8, 2-4 PSAC East) dropped a 3-2 decision to Millersville (7-3-3, 4-1-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead on a free kick goal by junior forward/middle Mac Long (Boonsboro, Md. Boonsboro/Hagerstown Community College) at the 14:20 mark.
Millersville tied the game at 1-1 on a goal by Juan Escobar on an assist by Roy Parkyn at the 36:31 mark.
The Marauders took a 2-1 lead when Zander Leik scored on a feed from Mikhil Patil at the 67:38 mark.
The Rams tied the game at 2-2 at the 68:02 mark when sophomore forward/defender Ebenezer Solomon (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch) scored on a pass from sophomore defender Aaron Sullivan (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run).
Leik scored the game-winner with an unassisted tally at the 82:31 mark.
Sophomore goalkeeper Aidan Houck (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) posted five saves for the Rams. Gavin Massimi recorded three saves for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 13-12 advantage in shots. The Marauders had an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Millersville had a 12-6 margin in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 1 p.m. match.
