Lutman was a four-year standout football player for the Rams from 1962-65.  He served as team tri-captain in 1965 and earned Mason-Dixon All-Conference Honors.  Lutman also gained Shepherd College Outstanding Senior Athlete honors.  He later went on to a very successful career as a teacher, coach, and administrator.  Lutman served as head coach at Clarke County (VA) High SChool for football, track, golf and basketball.  He was a three-time Coach of the Year selection (1972, 1982, 1983), and also gained Group A State Athletic Director of the Year accolades in 1995-96.  Lutman helped expand the athletic program at Clarke County from eight teams to 22 before accepting a new challenge at Potomac Falls (VA) High School.
