Hall of Fame
Diehl was a standout player for the Ram baseball team from 1982-84. He helped lead Shepherd to back-to-back WVIAC titles in 1983 and 1984. Diehl was named to the All-WVIAC First Team in 1984 with his batting average of .361, 14 stolen bases and seven stolen bases, tying a single season record. Although he only spent three seasons playing for the Rams, he finished his career as the all-time leader in home runs with 19 and grand slams with four. Diehl is still ranked in the top-10 in several career and single season categories, joining his brother David Diehl ('83) in the hall of fame.
