Stup was a four-year standout for the Shepherd football team from 1992-96. Stup garnered WVIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1996 as he recorded 13 sacks to help lead the Rams to a 7-3 mark. A member of two WVIAC championship teams, Stup's  33.5 career sacks are the most in program history. He is also the only player in program history to lead the Rams in sacks for four consecutive years.
