Shepherd University Athletics

Excelled in football for Shepherd from 1972-75, helping guide the Rams to a four-year record of 23-19 (.548), including a 7-3 mark and the WVIAC Championship in 1972.  An offensive guard, Gillette earned First Team WVIAC All-Star honors his last three seasons, and was named an honorable mention NAIA All-American as a senior.  The first player in school history to earn First Team WVIAC All-Star honors three times.  A two-time captain, he helped lead the way for the top four rushers in school history.
