Shepherd University Athletics

Calhoun excelled in football and basketball, started four years in each sport.  He was selected captain of the 1941 football team.  Following his time at Shepherd he coached Beall High School to the Maryland State High School Track and Field title in 1975.  Honored by USA Today as one of the top-five high school football coaches in the country, and the most successful high school football coach in the state of Maryland.  Posted a 185-146-10 mark as a football coach.
