Shepherd University Athletics

Etzel excelled in swimming, earning NAIA All-America honors four times.  Kathy is one of only four SC swimmers to have earned All-America honors in each of her varsity seasons.  She was the national champion in the 100-meter breastrsroke in 1981 and helped three different relay teams win national titles, including two in 1981.  Kathy won three individual tri-state swimming and divind championships and set the school record in the 100-yard individual medley.  In addition, she is a former two-time Shepherd Pentathlon Champion.
