Hall of Fame
Excelled in football as a two-way starter on the 1949 and 1950 squads. He played the end position on each side of the ball. As a junior, he was named to the 1949 West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team and as a senior in 1950 named to the WVIAC First Team. He was named a "centennial sports great" by The Hampshire County Centennial Commission in 1963. Played on the 1947 Intercollegiate State Championship team at Potomac State. He concluded an illustrious 39-year coaching career in 1990 that included stints at Charles Town High School (WV), Martinsburg High School (WV), Virginia Military Institute, The College of William & Mary, and most recently at James Wood High School in Winchester, VA.
